Barry to host Florida Academy of Sciences annual meeting

Barry University will host the 77th annual meeting of the Florida Academy of Sciences on March 8 and 9 at the Miami Shores campus, Andreas building 111.

Abstracts on all aspects of science and engineering including geology, environmental chemistry and medical sciences will be presented for general sessions in all sections of the academy. This includes a Special Session of Urban and Regional Planning (URB): Climate Change and Florida’s Coastal Communities.

On Friday, 150 presentations by undergraduate and graduate students across the state, including 25 of Barry’s own, will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a special plenary address by Christopher Landsea at the Gato Gallery in Thompson Hall.

On Saturday, more than 100 high school students from across the state will join the sessions for the Florida Junior Academy of Sciences.

The registration for this event is $20 for students and $35 for non-students.
