MIAMI, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers fell to the FIU Panthers 66-52 in a women’s basketball exhibition tune-up on Friday night on Lime Court at U.S. Century Bank Arena.

The Buccaneers were led by the newcomers, including Nyjah Porcher, who scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Sharnese Neal led the Buccaneers on the glass with 11 rebounds. Ines Kerin chipped in 12 points.

Barry shot 37.3 percent from the floor (22-of-59) and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc (4-of-12).

The Bucs trailed 35-19 at the half, but out-scored the NCAA Division I Panthers 33-31 in the second period, including a late 15-0 run.

Jerica Coley, who led D-I in scoring last year, led the Panthers with 30 points and nine rebounds. Brianna Wright added 14 points and nine boards.

The Bucs open the regular season on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 9-10, at the Nova Southeastern Tip-off Tournament. They face seventh-ranked Stonehill on Saturday and 22nd-ranked Washburn on Sunday.
