FLUSHING, N.Y. -- Barry University women's doubles team of Linda Fritschken and Emma Onila lost in the consolation round of the United States Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.

The Bucs pair lost to the No. 3 overall seed and No. 1 duo in the reseeded consolation bracket, Brynn Boren and Zoe Katz of the University of Southern California, 8-4.

Some of the nation's top-ranked players are competing in the national event at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. The Bucs pair was the only NCAA Division II doubles team in the draw.

Onila and Fritschken won the ITA South Region doubles championship, the ITA Small College doubles title and the Super Bowl doubles crown. Onila was the runner-up in the ITA South Region singles tournament.

Barry's spring season begins Feb. 8 in a home match against Florida Tech during team dual competitions.
