Barry University Custom Zoom and Microsoft Teams Backgrounds

Show your Barry pride (and our beautiful campus) by using these custom Zoom and Microsoft Teams backgrounds for your virtual meetings, conference calls or presentations.

Zoom

Right click on any of the images below and choose "Save Image As" to save it to your computer. Open your Zoom meeting, click the up arrow next to "Stop Video" and select “Choose Virtual Background.” Click the “+” next to Choose Virtual Background to upload your image and set your background! Don't forget to uncheck the "Mirror my video" box option under Video Settings. Check out the Zoom support page for more information about using virtual backgrounds.

Microsoft Teams

Mac and PC users can now customize their Microsoft Teams background image by following a few quick steps. (You must have a desktop version of the app to take advantage of this workaround.)

For PC Users

  1. Navigate to your computer system by clicking This PC followed by Local Disk
  2. To ensure all files and folders are visible in your Local Disk, use the top navigation bar to click View. If it is not already, check the box labeled Hidden Items. You will now see all files and folders in your Local Disk.
  3. Click the folder labeled Users
  4. Click your personal username
  5. Click the folder labeled AppData
  6. Click the folder labeled Roaming
  7. Click the folder labeled Microsoft (Do not click the “Microsoft Teams” folder)
  8. Click the folder labeled Teams
  9. Click the folder labeled Backgrounds
  10. You will now see all of the Microsoft Teams backgrounds available to you, as well as a folder called Uploads
  11. Drag your desired high-quality image into the Uploads folder
  12. Join a Teams meeting and navigate to your background images. You will see your newly uploaded image has been added. You may add as many background images as you like.

Shortcut: Try pasting %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Teams\Backgrounds\Uploads into your Windows search bar for quick access to the Uploads folder. 

For Mac Users

  1. Clear your desktop
  2. Navigate to your Mac toolbar and click Go. In the dropdown menu, click Go to Folder
  3. Type ~/Library into the search field
  4. Click the folder labeled Application Support
  5. Click the folder labeled Microsoft
  6. Click the folder labeled Teams
  7. Click the folder labeled Backgrounds
  8. You will now see all of the Microsoft Teams backgrounds available to you, as well as a folder called Uploads
  9. Drag your desired high-quality image into the Uploads folder
  10. Join a Teams meeting and navigate to your background images. You will see your newly uploaded image has been added. You may add as many background images as you like. 

Shortcut: Alternatively, you may search “teamsBackground” in the Applications window of your Finder folder. This will reveal the default background images associated with the Teams App. Right click on any one of those images and select Show Enclosing Folder. Click the Uploads folder and drag your high-quality custom image or images here.
