Jean-Paul Dardenne MS ‘03
Jean-Paul Dardenne is entering his 10th season with the New Orleans Saints and his 20th year in the sports marketing/sponsorship field, having been promoted to Sr. Vice President of Corporate Partnerships of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans in February 2014. Since July 2012, Mr. Dardenne has overseen corporate partnerships sales and service for both franchises.
Mr. Dardenne joined the Saints in 2006 as the club’s director of corporate partnerships prior to being promoted to senior director of corporate sponsorships in 2011. He played a pivotal role in helping forge a ground-breaking 10-year naming rights deal with Mercedes-Benz for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. Throughout his tenure, he’s helped identify and recruit numerous local and national sponsors for the club, while also supervising the sponsorship and fulfillment department, to ensure the team’s corporate partners receive the highest level of service.
In addition to the naming agreement for the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, Mr. Dardenne was instrumental in establishing a 10-year naming rights deal with Smoothie King for the Smoothie King Center. The collaboration pairs two Louisiana companies in a partnership that contributes to the long-term financial viability of the New Orleans Pelicans.
Prior to joining the Saints, Mr. Dardenne served as the director of sponsor and market development for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd from 2004-06 and also has worked with Bruno Event Team and Executive Sports International in various leadership positions in sponsorship and marketing.
A native of South Hadley, Mass., Mr. Dardenne earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Springfield College and received his Master’s in Sports Management from Barry University.
