Legacy Grants and Scholarships
Sr. Dorothy Browne Legacy Scholarship
The Sr. Dorothy Browne Legacy Scholarship exists to cultivate future alumni leaders that wish to continue the Barry tradition in their family. This scholarship is open to all current, full-time, legacy students that meet the qualifications set forth by the Scholarship Committee. Eligible students may apply through the Barry University Scholarship System.
The Barry University Legacy Grant is available to any accepted freshman or transfer student who enrolls full time as a degree-seeking student in a traditional undergraduate program of study and who has a relative who earned a degree from Barry University. The applicant must also have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 at the time of acceptance.
The award amount is $1000 per academic year and may be combined with other Barry funded aid, provided that total Barry funded awards not exceed the cost of tuition. The grant is renewable for the duration of the student’s undergraduate program provided the student remains in good academic standing at Barry University.
There is no separate application for the Legacy grant. When legacy students apply to Barry University for admission and indicate that they are related to a Barry alum, they are automatically considered for this grant. However, the number of awards is limited so legacy students are encouraged to apply to Barry University as early as possible. Eligible applicants are awarded the Legacy Grant on a first-come, first-serve basis.
