The Executive Leadership Forum

The Executive Leadership Forum was created to serve as a venue for sharing practical business knowledge. Select leaders from the business community are invited to engage in a dialogue regarding their perspectives on leadership and the everyday challenges they face.

Our seventh guest to the Executive Leadership Forum is Mr. Juan Carlos Núñez, President of Whole Foods Market, Florida Region. In this role, he directs the strategy and operations of over 18 Whole Foods Market stores with six in development and approximately 3,200 employees in the State of Florida - a region that contributes to the total revenues of WFM which is approximately $12B annually.

Mr. Núñez is the most senior Regional President at Whole Foods Market. Since joining the company in 1993, he has expanded Whole Foods Market’s presence and operations by growing from three to 18 stores in Florida, opening a distribution center to facilitate access to markets and operating a Bakehouse to complement the distribution center, and establishing regional executive offices in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

He has been named Whole Foods Market Global All*Star three times and Honorable Mention once. The Florida Region was also recognized as the 2011 Whole Foods Market Global All*Star Region. The Global All*Star awards is the highest recognition of achievement within Whole Foods Market company.

Prior to joining Whole Foods Market, Mr. Núñez worked at Mrs. Gooch’s Natural Foods Market which was later acquired by Whole Foods Market in 1993. He has held various positions within the company including: Store Team Leader, Director of Store Operations in the Southern California Region, and Vice President of the Southwest Region.

Mr. Núñez lives with his family in Pompano Beach, FL where his commitment to sustainable living is part of his and his family’s life each and every day.
