9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance

9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance

Registration for 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance 2017 is now open!

On Saturday, September 9, students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to participate in a neighborhood revitalization project alongside Miami-Dade County community leaders and public servants at Gwen Cherry Park in Liberty City.

During Barry’s 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, the participants will work with Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces and nearly 200 community volunteers to complete a park beautification project and install raised beds for a new community garden.

According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance is an “annual and forward-looking tribute to the 9/11 victims, survivors, and those who rose up in service in response to the attacks.”
