Barry’s graduate programs in Theology and Ministry re-accredited until 2028 by Association of Theological Schools

Barry University’s Department of Theology and Philosophy is proud to announce that its graduate programs in Theology and Ministry have been re-accredited for 10 years. The re-accreditation, which is valid through 2028, was granted by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) through its Commission on Accrediting. It is the result of the self-study and site visit in October 2018 by members of the ATS evaluation committee.

The accredited programs include the Doctor of Ministry, the Master of Arts in Practical Theology and Ministry, and the Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry for Hispanics, located at the program’s extension site at the South East Pastoral Institute.

Accreditation is a primary means of quality assurance in North American higher education and a significant resource for quality improvement. The programs are also regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. The graduate programs in Theology and Ministry received their first five-year accreditation by the Association in 2004, with a 10-year re-accreditation in 2009.

We are grateful for the prayers and support that we received from all levels of Barry University throughout this important process. We welcome any comments you wish to make concerning the graduate programs in Theology and Ministry. Comments can be emailed to Dr. Gloria Schaab, SSJ, chair of the Department of Theology and Philosophy, at gschaab@barry.edu.
