Women's Basketball Finishes Off Roster Rebuild With Two More Guards
Sheanna James (L), a transfer from Mitchell College, and Ella Ramonas, a freshman from Maine, round out the 2012-13 roster.

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry women’s basketball team finalized their roster for 2012-13 with the addition of two final players in guards Sheanna James and Ella Ramonas.

James is a 5-5 sophomore transfer from NCAA Division III Mitchell College in New London, Conn. As a freshman with the Mariners, she lead the team in scoring (16.2 points per game), assists (2.9 per game) and steals (3.4 per game) and was second in rebounding (6.8 per game). She was a Second-Team All-New England Collegiate Conference selection, leading the league in steals and ranked third in scoring and 10th in assists.

“Sheanna is a speedy guard that will provide more depth for us on the perimeter,” Barry head coach Bill Sullivan said. “We really like her quickness, her scoring ability and her positive attitude.”

Ella is a 5-11 freshman from Deering High in Portland, Me. She led the Lady Rams to a team record of 74-10 over her career; including one class A state championship and three consecutive Western Maine class A finals. As a senior, she led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Rams went 14-5.

“Ella is an accomplished high school student-athlete and we are looking forward to her continued excellence at the college level as well,” Sullivan said. “Since she is capable of playing four different positions, her versatility will be a huge asset for our team.”

With James and Ramonas, the Bucs now have nine new players to go along with returners Jackie Perez, Colette Eule, Amanda Frontino and Kaley Howard.
