MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—  On Tuesday night, the Buccaneers found themselves down at halftime, but were about to come on strong in the second half to win comfortably over Daemen College 74-64 in the Health & Sports Center.

The first half was frustrating for the Bucs as they allowed Daemen (1-4) to shoot 52.6 percent (10-19) from the field, and 60 percent from beyond the arc while only making 30.8 percent of their own shots, including missing six of their eight 3-point attempts. This lack of finishing led to the Bucs trailing at halftime 31-28.

But in the second half, the Bucs roared out of the gate to out-score the Wildcats 6-2 over the first few minutes of the second half and take a 34-33 lead with 17:45 left on a jumper by Amra Elezovic.

A big key for the Bucs was winning the turnover battle. They committed only six of their own while forcing the Wildcats into 20. Six Bucs combined for 11 steals on the night, with Kaila Britten and Jackie Perez leading the team with three each.

Five Bucs scored in double digits with forward Elezovic leading the way with a season-high 18. The Manchester, New Hampshire native also had a team-high nine rebounds as Barry beat the Wildcats on the boards, 38-33. Ashley Lutz added 13 points and Nyjah Porcher added 12. Lynae Richardson and Britten came off the bench with 11 and 10 points respectively.

Daemen had three players score in double digits with Raeann Stilwell leading her team with 17 points and Natalie Galus claiming the most rebounds with nine.

Up next for the Bucs is a drive up to Davie, Florida as they take on Fayetteville State on Friday, December 19th in the Pre-Christmas Classic at 4 pm.
