Barry University women's golfer Nicky Ferre was named a Women's Golf Coaches Association NCAA Division II Second-Team All-American.

Ferre, a sophomore from Weston, Fla., has seven top-10 finishes in 11 tournaments this season. She's finished runner-up twice, and was third in three tournaments. Ferre has a team-best 75.31 stroke average, 49 birdies, two eagles, and shot a career-best 2-under 70 in the second tournament of the season.

Junior Nancy Vergara, of Caracas, Venezuela, earned Honorable Mention All-America honors. Last year's individual national champion, Vergara has five top-10 finishes. She placed third in two events. She is third on the team in stroke average (76.88) and birdies (41), and shot par-72 in the second round of the NCAA South/Southeast Regional in her low round of the season.

Vergara and sophomore Maria Paola Fiorio earned All-South Region honors. Fiorio, of Torino, Italy, is second on the team in stroke average (76.73) and birdies (47), and shot a 1-under 71 in the second round of the Flagler Fall Slam to anchor her runner-up finish. She has five top-10 finishes.
