DENVER, Colo.—The Barry men’s soccer team fell 1-0 to the second-ranked Fort Lewis Skyhawks in a neutral site game at Ranger Field on the campus of Regis University on Saturday.

The lone goal of the game came in the 84th minute. Off a corner kick, Casey Roberts picked off the clearance and centered the ball to Kieran Hall who blasted a side volley off his first touch into the back of the net.

The Bucs (1-1-0), though out-shot by the Skyhawks 24-11, had several excellent scoring chances. In the 62nd minute, Skyhawk keeper Zane Wells came out to challenge Lee Yakubowich and went down leaving the net open. Mark Kilpatrick’s shot was headed away by Charlton Clark.

In the 74th minute, Julio Arnaiz ripped a shot from inside the six-yard box past Wells that David Oberholtzer swept off the line.

Devala Gorrick played an outstanding game in goal for the Bucs, stopping nine shots, many of them diving stops. Wells made one save for Fort Lewis.
