MIAMI SHORES, Fla. After starting the matching with a two-game lead, the Barry University volleyball team (4-5) suffered a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailifish. The game scores were 30-32, 27-30, 30-25, 30-27, 15-10.

Almost a year ago, the Buccaneers faced off against the Sailifish. Barry took a two-game lead in the match but PBA fought back to win in five games. Today it was deja vu with the Bucs taking a two-game lead, this time at home. Palm Beach Atlantic, however, replicated last year's performance to snare the win at the Health and Sports Center.

No two teams could have been more evenly matched than Barry and Palm Beach Atlantic on Tuesday. The Bucs finished the match with 65 kills to the Sailfish's 66. Both teams were relatively close in both assists and digs. The Bucs had 60 assists and 92 digs while PBA collected 62 assists and 94 digs. However, the Sailifish edged the Bucs in points 86.5-80 for the win.

The Buccaneers went with a completely different look for the first time this season. Julie Priester received the starting nod at setter and recorded a career-high 53 assists and added 17 digs, while Camilla Pagnan posted double 22's (22 kills, 22 digs). Stefanie Sveiven added a career-high 15 kills and hit a .345 clip. Lauren Evans added 22 digs.

The Sailifish (7-5) barely changed their players throughout the match. Brittany Erickson had 21 kills. Jennifer Eldridge had a match high 24 digs. Bia Santos had 14 kills.

The Buccaneers will return to action on Friday, Sept. 14 at the North Alabama Invitational in Florida Ala. Barry will faced Henderson State at 11 am, followed by a 8 pm match with host North Alabama.
