DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Junior Johanna Soderstrom finished two-over par to lead the Barry University women’s golf team to a season-opening tournament win at the Lady Falcon Invitational on Sunday. The Buccaneers finished with a two-round score of 597 (299-298) for the win.
First Round Buccaneer junior Johanna Soderstrom was the only player in the field of 73 to break par, shooting one-under 71 to lead the pack. Barry's RemiJin Camping carded a two-over 73 to sit tied for fourth, while newcomer Isadora Stapff is tied for ninth at 75. Sophomores Cristina Coll (80) and Anna Haglind (81) round out the Bucs entry which ended the first day at 299. The Nova Southeastern are right behind the Bucs in second place after shooting 300 in the first round. The Swedish Amatuer Team (310), Stetson University (312) and Daytona Beach CC (313) round out the top five in the cosmopolitan field. The tournament conlcudes on Sunday with a single round. The Bucs tee off from the first tee starting at 8:50 am.
