ORLANDO, Fla. – The Barry University men’s basketball team (0-2, 0-0 SSC) dropped a second match at the Disney Tip-Off Classic on Saturday afternoon. The Bucs fell 89-64 to the Columbus State Cougars at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.

The Bucs looked like a completely different team in the first half of the first period from that which played Stonehill yesterday. The Cougars and Bucs traded off shots until the Bucs gained their largest lead of the game at the 9:10 mark with a jumper from sophomore Chad Bishop to put the Bucs up 20-14.

In the first period, Barry was able to tie the game up four times. Off an assist from Jamaal Madyun, senior Gabe Lazo nailed a jump shot from the right elbow from the free throw line to send the Bucs into the locker room trailing the Cougars, 42-32.

The second period belonged to the Cougars as they ran away to 31-point lead at the 7:10 mark. From the bench, the Bucs took 24 points from the Cougars and were 80 percent from the line.

Senior John Parafinczuk dropped two good free throws at the final 1:19 mark to finalize the Bucs’ scoring for the game.

Karega Tucker finished with a double-double, leading the Bucs once again with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Tucker was also co-leader for the game.

The Bucs conclude their play at the Disney Tip-Off Classic tomorrow, Sunday, Nov. 10 at 2:30 pm at The Milk House at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex. Barry will face Grand Valley State University whom most recently upset #8 Michigan State in double over-time.
