GRANDBURY, Texas – After getting rained out halfway through the opening round, the Barry University women’s golf team finished second at the Tarleton State Coca Cola Classic on Sunday afternoon. The Buccaneers fired a score of 317 on the 7,300 yard, par-72 Harbor Lakes course.

No. 5 Barry (317) and No. 9 Northeastern State (317) tied for second, but Barry got the nod on a scorecard playoff.  St. Edward's finished fourth with a 318. West Texas A&M finished fifth with a score of 340 to round out the top five. The tournament was shortened due to severe weather that caused Saturday's round to be cancelled after the teams had played most of the first nine holes of the shotgun start.

St. Edward's Alex Smith shot a 75 on Sunday to win the individual title while Shraddhanjali Singh and Maury Shock tied for second with a 76 each.  Shock won the scorecard playoff to take second while Isadora Stapff of Barry took fourth over Katie Miller on another scorecard playoff with a single round of 77.

Barry’s RemiJin Camping finished one stroke behind Stapff with a single round score of 78, while Cristina Coll followed with a score of 80. Anna Haglind (82) and Johanna Soderstrom (83) rounded out the Buccaneer scores.

The Buccaneers will return to action on Feb. 24-25 at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland, Fla.
