WINTER PARK, Fla.—The 16th-ranked Barry Buccaneers dropped a 6-3 decision to number 10 Rollins at the Bert Martin Tennis Complex on Saturday in Sunshine State Conference women’s action.
The Tars (6-0, 3-0 SSC) took two of three doubles, winning at the lower flights. Barry’s Ildiko Csordas and Caroline Stevens knocked off Marnie Mahler and Roshni Luthra 8-3 at the top flight for the Bucs’ only point.
In singles, Barry’s Angie Werschel defeated Anastasiya Shevchenko 7-6 (5), 6-2 at number three and Stevens completed a three-set win over Sonia Bernal 6-0, 3-6, 6-4.
