Women's Golf Finishes 5th at Peggy Kirk Bell Classic

WINTER PARK, Fla. – The Barry University women’s golf team finished fifth out of 13 teams at the Peggy Kirk Bell Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The Buccaneers shot a three-round score of 934 on the 6,089 yard, par-72 Tuscawilla Country Club course.
 
Rollins (+37) finished as the tournament champion for the fourth consecutive year winning by five strokes over the 13-team field. Nova Southeastern (+42) moved up from their third place finish in the opening rounds and finished second, while Florida Southern (+44) finished two strokes behind the Sharks in third. Lynn (+63) finished seven stroke ahead of Barry (+70) in fourth place, while the Buccaneers rounded out the top five teams.
 
Johanna Soderstrom (+13) continued to lead the Barry squad finished T14 out of 71 individuals with a three-round score of 229. Cristina Coll (+18) finished T22, while Anna Haglind (+21) finished 32nd. RemiJin Camping (+22) and Isadora Stapff (+23) finished T33 and T35 respectively to round out the Buccaneer individual scores.
 
Rollins’ Laura Fourdraine (+6) finished as the tournament individual medalist after a two-over-par score of 74 in the final round and finished with at three-round score of 222.
 
The Buccaneers will return to action at the NSU Spring Classic on Mar. 24-25 hosted at Woodmont Country Club in Tamarac, Fla.
 
 
 
Rounds 1 & 2
WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. -- After the first two rounds of the Peggy Kirk Bell Classic hosted by Rollins College, the Barry University women’s golf team is currently fifth out of 13 teams. The Buccaneers fired a two-round opening score of 620 (+44) on the 6,089 yard par-72 Tuscawilla Country Club course on Monday afternoon.

Host Rollins is the current tournament leader by 20 strokes with a two-round score of 600 (+24), wile Florida Southern (+28) is just four strokes back in second place. Leading after the first round, Nova Southeastern (+32) was overtaken in the second and are currently third, while Lynn (+43) finished the first two rounds in fourth place. Barry (312-308--620) rounded out the top five teams.

Barry’s Johanna Soderstrom (+8) is the current Buccaneer team leader. After finishing the first two
rounds with a score of 152, she is currently T9th out of 71 individuals. Cristina Coll (+11) finished T18, while Anna Haglind (+14) and RemiJin Camping (+16) finished T26 and T25 respectively. Isadora Staff (+19) rounded out the Buccaneer individuals in 40th place.
 
Florida Southern’s Heather Burgner (+3) is the currently individual leader with a two-round score of 147.
 
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday, Mar. 11 with an 8 am shotgun start.
