MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University women’s soccer team closed out its season on Tuesday evening with a 1-0 loss to the Rollins Tars at Buccaneer Field.

The lone goal in the game came late in the second period when Rollins (12-0-3, 5-0-1 SSC) received a free kick. The ball bounced off the goal post and landed at the feet of Joy Powell who put it in from the top of the penalty box.

For the Buccaneers, Sami Cromartie had nine saves, while the winning keeper from Rollins, Michelle Dillingham, had three saves.

The Buccaneers close out their 2008 season with a final record of 9-8-1, an improvement over last year’s 8-9-0 record.
