DAVIE, Fla. – The Barry University men’s basketball team held Nova Southeastern without a field for over 11 minutes in the second half, but the Sharks came alive down the stretch to hold off the Bucs, 62-58, Wednesday night in Sunshine State Conference action.

NSU (9-3, 4-0 SSC) built their lead to eight several times in the first half, but key shots from behind the arc helped kept the Bucs close.

Zach Trapp hit a three-pointer to close the half and then opened the second half with another trey to help trim the Sharks lead to two.

Trapp continued his hot shooting, as his four-point scoring stretch helped tie the game at 44 at the 10:24 mark.
With the Sharks going cold from the floor, Barry (6-8, 1-3 SSC) began to take advantage.

A Chad Bishop jumper at the 5:06 mark expanded the Bucs lead to their largest of the night at five, 55-50.
NSU then scored the next five points to tie the game with a little over two minutes to play.

Free throws and a layup built the Sharks lead to four, as the Bucs had a few chances to tie or take the lead, but missed on a pair of three-pointers.

Trapp and Tucker paced the Bucs, scoring 15 a piece. Bishop added 12 points.

John Brooks and David Naylor each tallied double-digit scoring for the Sharks, with Brooks leading the way with 14 and Naylor chipping in 10.

Barry will remain on the road this Saturday as they will play at Tampa beginning at 4 p.m.
