MIAMI Shores, Fla.—The Barry University men’s tennis team easily beat the Saint Leo Lions (0-1) 9-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Buccaneer Tennis Center.
In number one doubles, Emanual Fraitzl and Maw Wimmer beat Yves Jacobs and Rich MacLacklan 8-3. In number two doubles Sergio Velez and Andrew Sharnov beat Pablo Chaves and Jose Morales 8-1, while Ales Svigelj and Roman Werschel beat Jeff Hanrahan and Mike Calloway 8-0.
Up 3-0 already, the Bucs continued pounding the lions when number one Ales Svigelj beat Pablo Chavez 6-2, 6-0 to go up 4-0.
Andrew Sharnov finished it off for the Bucs, beating Yves Jacobs 6-0, 6-1 in number two singles.
The Buccaneers move to 3-0 on the season and 1-0 in SSC play with the win over Lynn. The Bucs return to action at home against Lynn on Monday, Feb. 16.
