Women's Golf Finishes In Fifth At Kiawah Island

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. --- Eighth-ranked Barry finished with a 606 (302-304) to finish in fifth overall on the final day of the seventh annual Tusculum/Kiawah Island Women’s Golf Intercollegiate Sunday at Cougar Point Golf Club.

Florida Southern repeated as Tusculum/Kiawah Island women’s golf champions, as they claimed the invite with a 586. Fellow Sunshine State Conference foes Rollins 588 and Lynn 602 finished in second and third, respectively.
Pfeiffer got into the clubhouse just ahead of the Bucs for fourth, as they shot a 605.

Junior Anna Haglind once again paced Barry, as she moved up to a fifth-place finish individually, after carding a 146 (74-72). Isadora Stapff fired a 150 (75-75) to move up a few spots from her 17th position the first day to finish in 14th.
Cristina Coll rounded out the three Bucs that finished in the top-20, as she moved up to 19th after shooting a 154 (77-77).

Lizzie Over finished in a tie for 26th with two other golfers, as she finished with a 156 (76-80). Johanna Soderstrom also carted home an 80 on the final day to finish in 35th with a 159 (79-80).

Barry will be back in action March 2 and 3 at the Lady Moc Classic in Lakeland, FL. The classic will be played at the Eaglebrooke Golf Course.
 
 
 
 
Women's Golf In Third Place After Day One At Kiawah Island
 
KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. --- Eighth-ranked Barry shot an opening round 302 and trails top-ranked Florida Southern by 10 strokes after day one action of the seventh annual Tusculum/Kiawah Island Women’s Golf Intercollegiate Saturday at Cougar Point Golf Club.
 
Seventh-ranked and defending national champs Rollins are in second place at 293. Barry sits in third, followed by #4 Lynn (303) and #18 Pfeiffer (305).
 
The Bucs had all five players shoot under 80, led by junior Anna Haglind’s 74. She is tied for eighth. Isadora Stapff followed with a 75 to tie for 17th. Lizzie Over’s 76 is tied for 19th and Cristina Coll shot 77 to tie for 22nd. Johanna Soderstrom is tied for 34th at 79.
 
The final round of the two-day, 17-team event will be held Sunday morning at Cougar Point.  This year’s includes nine colleges and universities that are currently nationally ranked.
