PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Barry University baseball team once again showed their offensive prowess by blasting Palm Beach Atlantic, 12-6, Wednesday night.

Barry (9-2) scored in each of the first seven innings, as the team powered five home runs by five different players.

The Bucs didn’t wait long to strike, as they tallied three runs in the first inning. Yas Gutierrez delivered an RBI single, Danny Lima crossed the plate on a wild pitch and Gutierrez finished the scoring in the inning coming in on an error by the Sailfish.

Drew Dwelly then started the home run derby for the Bucs, as he drilled a solo homer in the second. Manny Pedrozo hit a two-run shot in the third, Mitch Rodriguez continued the barrage, as he smacked a two-run shot of his own in the fourth.

Joel Keefe and Lima completed the home run fest, as Keefe hit a solo shot in the fifth and Lima crushed a two-run homer in the sixth.

Brad McAllister (3-0) once again was solid on the mound, as the freshman right-hander tossed six innings, giving up just one run and striking out 10.

Barry will now get set for a long stretch of games at home, as they host Concordia (NY) Saturday beginning at 6 p.m. and again on Sunday at noon.
