MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Behind a stellar effort from freshman pitcher Brad McAllister, the Barry University baseball team defeated Lynn, 4-0, Friday night in Sunshine State Conference action at Feinbloom Field.

McAllister (4-0) dominated the Knights (15-4, 0-1 SSC) all game long, recording seven strikeouts and only allowing one runner to get into scoring position.

Barry (12-2, 1-0 SSC) struck first in the bottom of the first inning, as Nick Shaw led off with a double to right center. Then after advancing to third on a groundout, Yan Gomes delivered the sacrifice fly RBI for the early 1-0 lead.

Lynn then threatened in the fourth, as Gabe MacDougall singled, advanced to second on a wild pitch, then later went to third on a groundout. McAllister then buckled down to get Kyle Holloway to fly out to center ending the threat.

The Bucs helped put the game out of reach in the eighth inning, as Gomes leadoff with an RBI single, and then later came home on an RBI groundout by Joel Keefe for a 3-0 lead. Yudelmis Hernandez finished off the inning with a line drive double to left field scoring Yas Gutierrez and giving the Bucs all the runs they would need.

McAllister finished with a complete game shutout, allowing just six hits, walking one and recording seven strikeouts.

Barry will be back in action Saturday as they will play a doubleheader against Lynn with the first game beginning at noon at Feinbloom Field.
