Men's Tennis Steamrolls John's Hopkins

MIAMI SHORES, Fla.— The Barry University Buccaneers steamrolled the John’s Hopkins Blue Jays on Tuesday, beating them 7-0 to move to 14-1 on the season.
 
The Buccaneers easily took the doubles matches to help them earn three points. In number one doubles, Emanuel Fraitzl and Andrew Sharnov beat Casey Blyth and Jacob Barnaby 8-3. In two doubles, Roman Werschel and Marcello D’Armas beat Warren Elgort and Ryan Rauck 9-8 (7-5). In number three doubles, Sergio Velez and David Barrigan beat Tripp Weber and Peter Vale 8-2.
 
In singles action, the Bucs earned four points, as number one and number six matches were unfinished. In number two singles, Sharnov beat Elgort 6-2, 6-0. In three singles, Werschel beat Blyth 6-2, 6-0. In four singles, Velez  beat Peter Vale 6-4, 6-0. In number five singles, Marcello D'Armas beat Barnaby 6-1, 6-4 to round out the match.
 
The Buccaneers remain the #1 ranked team in the country, and return to action at home on Saturday, March 21 against St. Edwards at 9 am.
