MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers dropped both ends of a Sunshine State Conference softball doubleheader, 3-1 and 5-2, to the Rollins College Tars on Sunday at Buccaneer Field.

The Bucs (30-18, 14-10 SSC) were tied 1-1 in the first game after Ashley Likens RBI double in the fourth inning. But the Tars’ Christine Roser ripped a two-run single in the fifth inning to provide the difference.

Rachael Foster (17-3) went the distance to earn the win for Rollins. She allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight without a walk. Foster also went three-for-three and scored twice at the plate.

Amber Jack (20-11) took the loss. She allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits and struck out six.

In the finale, the Bucs pounded out 11 hits, but could only push across two runs against Nicole Anderson (26-5). Anderson struck out one in five innings, while Foster tossed two scoreless frames to earn her first save.

Brianna Smith (10-8) took the loss for the Bucs. She allowed five runs on six hits and eight walks, while striking out 10.

Grace Collins and Brittany Anderson each had two hits for the Bucs in game two.
