MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers outlasted the Florida Tech Panthers 3-2 in Sunshine State Conference volleyball action at the Clemente Center on Saturday. The Bucs took the first two sets, then had to come back to win in five 25-22, 25-23, 12-25, 22-25, 15-9.
Julia Teixiera led the Bucs (10-4, 2-3 SSC) with 15 kills and 20 digs, while Julia Ridley added 15 kills and Lovisa Johansson had a career-high 12 kills. Spenser Rigg also had 20 digs, while Libby Walter added 18 digs and 45 assists.
Caitlyn Ballweber led Tech (6-9, 0-6 SSC) with 20 kills, while Shelby DeNeice added 13 kills and 20 digs. Amy O’Brien had 23 digs.
The Bucs will face the Lynn Knights in the deHornle Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 7:00 pm before returning home to host the Tampa Spartans and Eckerd Tritons on Friday and Saturday.
