DAVIE, Fla.—The Barry University volleyball team dropped a three-set match to Nova Southeastern on Tuesday night, losing 25-21, 25-15, 25-17.

The Bucs (11-9, 2-7 SSC) stayed with the Sharks (15-9, 6-5 SSC) throughout the first part of set one as the teams were tied at 7-7. The Bucs got within one point at 17-16 with the help of strong hitting by Ady Alcantara, Julia Ridley, Stefanie Svieven, and Julia Teixiera. Yet the Sharks were solid down the stretch, winning set one 25-21.

In set two, the Sharks stormed out to big leads of 10-4 and 18-9. Errors would do the Bucs in, as they went on to lose set two 25-15.

The Bucs stayed close with the Sharks through the early going of set three, down a point at 11-10. A strong Shark offense was too much for the Bucs as they went on to lose set three 25-17.

The Buccaneer hitters combined for 34 kills in the match. Spenser Rigg had 13 digs and Libby Walter had 18 assisst.

The Buccaneers return to action on Friday, October 30 at home for a Code Red game against Saint Leo at 7:00 p.m.
