DAVIE, Fla.—The Barry University women’s basketball team used a strong late second half run to earn a 69-60 win over Armstrong Atlantic State on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Bucs (1-1) and Pirates (0-3) were evenly matched throughout much of the game as the lead changed hands 16 times.
 
The Bucs held an eight point lead, 26-18, with 7:26 remaining in the first half when Nadia Tijani hit an easy layup off of a give-and-go from Anika Rivera.
 
The Pirates fought back, heading into halftime up 33-32.
 
The Bucs came out of the half and went on a 10-3 run to take a seven point lead, 43-36, with 13:41 remaining in the game. The Pirates fought back again, tying it at 51-51 with 4:49 remaining.
 
It was all buccaneers for the remainder of the game as Barry went on an 18-9 run down the stretch to help the Bucs to the 69-60 run.
 
Mariessa Greene earned a double-double for the Bucs, scoring 30 points and grabbing 11 boards. Jennifer Lopez had 13 for the Bucs while Tilde Ahlin added 11.
 
The women return to action on Tuesday, December 1 against St. Thomas at home at 7:00pm.
