MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry University men’s basketball team picked up a 73-65 win over the Florida Tech on Wednesday night.
 
The Bucs (15-9, 6-7 SSC0 and Panthers (13-11, 3-10 SSC) were evenly matched throughout the first eight minutes of the first half before the Bucs put together an 11-1 run over the next six minutes to take a 23-11 lead.
 
The Bucs got out to their largest lead of 13 with 5:30 remaining in the first half when Tony Dennison drove the lane and hit a layup. The Bucs would enter halftime up 35-28.
 
The Bucs retained upper hand throughout the entire second half, pushing the lead to as high as 11 multiple times.
 
With 4:17 remaining in the game, Florida Tech fought back, cutting the lead to five off a Demetrius Harvey three-pointer. Yet the Bucs hung in it, sinking key free-throws down the stretch, and went on to win 73-65.
 
For the Bucs, Erick Nsangou finished with 22 points and seven rebounds. Tony Dennison added 19, while Marvin David and Zack Trapp combined for 15.
 
The Bucs return to action on Saturday, February 20 when Tampa visits the Health & Sports Center at 4:00 pm.
