MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Barry continued to roll through the Sunshine State Conference women’s tennis teams after beating 25th-ranked Florida Tech 9-0 at the Buccaneer Tennis Center on Sunday.
The Bucs (6-0, 4-0 SSC) made short work of the Panthers (1-6, 1-3 SSC), losing just one set in the match.
In doubles, the Bucs top squad of Barbi Pocza and Yulia Kashelkina defeated Natalia Ramos and Abigail Greif at number one 8-2. At number two, Angie Werschel and Mia Fiocca beat Katarina Huba and Stephanie Dohner by the same score, while Darya Yablonskaya and Berit Peterson bested Monica Price and Abbey Keister 8-3 at number three.
In singles, Pocza continued her dominance with a 6-0, 6-0 win over 13th-ranked Ramos at number one. At number two, 10th-ranked Werschel split sets with Huba losing 6-4 in the first and taking the second 6-2. Werschel took the point with a 10-5 win in the super tie-breaker for the third set.
At number three, Kashelkina outlasted Madrigal 6-1, 7-6 (4), while #31 Wendling made short work of Greif 6-1, 6-1 at number four.
Juliet Serabien played up at number five, beating Price 6-0, 6-3, while Yablonskaya took care of Dohner 6-2, 6-0 at number six.
The Bucs travel up to Melbourne, Fla., on Monday to face the NAIA seventh-ranked Brenau Tigers at the Fee Avenue Courts.
