The Buccaneers started the scoring off in their first at bat in the bottom of one when Leon belted a two-out, two-RBI single up the middle to give Barry an early 2-0 lead. Evan Ashley then singled to center field to collect the third RBI of the inning.

Eckerd scored their first run in the top of the fourth from a Minervino Labrador solo shot to left field. The Buccaneers answered in the bottom of the inning when Shaw singled through the right side of the infield scoring Joaquin Valdez. Dwelly then ripped a shot down the left field line to score Shaw and tally two runs in the inning.

Barry then added five runs in the sixth and seventh innings. In the seventh, Gutierrez singled up the middle then scored on a Garcia big fly over the right field fence. Ashley and Leon also scored off a Ramos single up the middle.

In the second inning, the Buccaneer defense recorded a triple play as Eckerd put runners on second and first with no outs. Eckerd designated hitter Joe Dabah ripped a shot to the back hand of Shaw. Shaw collected the liner and  tossed it to Ramos at second for two outs. Ramos then relayed it to Valdes at first for the trifecta.
