Baseball Takes Down Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla.—The Barry University baseball team used two five-run innings to earn a 13-7 win over the Saint Leo Lions on Friday night.
 
The Bucs (20-7) jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first. Nick Shaw (single), Drew Dwelly (double), Ryan Garcia (single), and Chirs Leon (triple) got on base. All four scored in addition to Matt Petty who was walked.
 
In the fifth inning, the Bucs scored another five runs with the help of three homeruns. Shaw started the inning with a solo homer to right field. After Yas Gutierrez was hit by a pitch and Petty singled, Garcia blasted a homer to left field scoring all three. Evan Ashley completed the trifecta by hitting a homerun to right field as well.
 
The Bucs would add three more runs in the seventh inning to take the win.
 
For the Buccaneers, Brad McAllister earned the win. He moves to 5-3 for the season. Matt Smith took the loss for the Lions.
