Rowing Continues To Have Strong Season
HOLLYWOOD, Fla.—The Barry University varsity 8 rowing team continued their strong season on Saturday morning with a win against Nova Southeastern in a dual race. The varsity 4+ and novice 4+ teams raced as well.
 
In the varsity 8 event, the Bucs beat Nova in a time of 7:17.1. The Sharks finished 11 seconds later in 7:28.1. The Boat was manned by cox-Gracie Horwitz, stroke-Kelly Harrison, 7-Brielle Bowers, 6-Rebekah Evans, 5-Vanessa Viadero, 4-Jaimee Lampard, 3-Katie Rogers, 2-Summerlin Knipe, and bow-Nicki Mareck.
 
The Bucs lost in each of the 4+ events. The varsity squad (cox-Kadi Karam, stroke Brianne Misner, 3-Helene Pierre, 2-Courtney Greene, bow-Constentina James) finished in a time of 9:25.6 while the Novice group‘s (cox-Kadi Karam, stroke-Sharnell Lyttle, 3-Michelle Geiger, 2-Bianca Boda, bow-Elizabeth McNair) exhibition time was 9:57.7.
 
The Bucs return to action in the SIRA Championships on April 17 and 18 in Oakridge, Tennessee.
