WINTER PARK, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers stumbled through an 11-2 loss to the league-leading Rollins Tars at Lake Island Park on Saturday night, walking 12 and committing four errors that led to seven unearned runs.
 
Of the 11 runs by the Tars (39-4, 18-1 SSC), six reached via walk and two more reached on errors.
 
The Bucs’ (31-21, 13-9 SSC) two runs came in the fifth inning. Taylor Newman led off with a bunt single and Amber Durkin followed with an RBI triple. Grace Collins drove in Durkin with a single up the middle.
 
Durkin was two-for-two with a triple, RBI and a run. Sarah Broeseker went three-for-three with a double.
 
Brianna Smith (14-6) took the loss for the Bucs. In three-plus innings, she allowed six runs (one earned) on three hits and nine walks. She left in the fourth inning after walking two and throwing the ball away on a fielder’s choice. Jessica Bevlin worked the final 2.2 innings. She allowed five runs (three earned) on five hits and three walks.
 
Christine Roser, who homered off Smith in the first inning, ended the game in the sixth by knocking in two runs with a single to give the Tars a nine-run lead.
 
The doubleheader, which was scheduled for 1:00 pm on Sunday, has been moved up to 11:00 am due to threat of rain.
