Men's Basketball Loses to Panthers

MELBOURNE, Fla.—The Barry men’s basketball team surrendered 34 points to Florida Tech’s Justin Sedlak and fell to the Panthers 85-66 on Saturday.

After Tech started the game on an 8-0 run, the Bucs cut the lead down to seven with 09:42 to play in the first half on an Evan White three. The seven point deficit would be the closed Barry came the Florida Tech the rest of the game after Sedlak sank two free throws to extend the lead to nin with 08:48 to play in the first period.

Bryan Van Cott led the Bucs in scoring with 14 and Evan White added 13. Willie Whitfield contributed 11 points, eight rebounds and four blocks.

Sedlak’s 34 points is the most Barry has surrendered to a single player the entire season. Tech’s first half 60 percent shooting from the field was simply too much for Barry to overcome.

The next game for Barry is Wednesday, January 19 at Palm Beach Atlantic with tip-off at 7:30 p.m. Coverage can be heard on the Buccaneer Broadcasting Network just before tip-off.
