MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University men’s basketball team dropped a 69-56 Sunshine State Conference contest to the Lynn University Knights on Saturday afternoon in the Health & sports Center.
The Bucs (4-12, 1-6 SSC) and Knights (4-13, 2-5 SSC) came out evenly matched before Barry pushed out to a six-point lead off a Bryan Van Cott three-pointer eight minutes into the first half.
Lynn took the lead with seven minutes remaining in the first when Jovan Robinson hit a deep trey. The Knights never surrendered the lead for the remainder of the game. The Knights went on a 15-7 run over the final six minutes of the first half to enter halftime on top 32-23.
The Bucs cut the lead to three, 36-33, five minutes into the second half and would get as close as one point multiple times. Lynn, however, remained resilient and went on to take the 69-56 win.
Van Cott led the Bucs with 11 points while Willie Whitfield had 10. Vladimir Raymonvil had seven while three Buccaneers, Bartas Visinkis, Evan White, and Marvin Davis had five each.
The Bucs return to action on Wednesday night when they host Saint Leo in the Health & Sports Center. Fans can follow the action live at GameCentral.
