MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University baseball team dropped a 9-7 non-conference decision to the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Tuesday evening. The Bucs led 7-5 in the sixth, but gave up four runs in the ninth for the loss.
 
The Sharks (5-0) got on the board in the third inning off an Areo Regoli grand slam that scored Nikko Echevarria, Luis Penate, andDusty Maggs.
 
Down 5-2 in the fifth, Lyndon Coleman, Julio Ramos, Drew Dwelly, Dean Green, and Matty Petty scored runs to take a 7-5 lead. Coleman and Ramos reached on a Green single, Dwelly reached on a Petty single, Green scored on a Ryan Garcia single and Petty scored on a wild pitch.
 
Nova, however, remained resilient, scoring four runs in the top of the ninth to take a 9-7 lead. The Bucs could muster no more offense in the bottom of the ninth, and lost the game.
 
Torey Ekey took the win for the Sharks and moves to 1-0 on the season. Tyler King takes the Buccaneer loss and is 0-1 for the season.
