MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry University baseball team took the rubber game of a three-game series against the Lander Bearcats on Saturday afternoon. The Bucs (8-7) took a 6-2 win.
 
Barry scored two runs in the first inning to get things off on the right track. Drew Dwelly reached on a fielding error by the Lander second baseman and Chris Leon scored on an Adrian English sacrifice bunt.
 
The Bucs added three more runs in the fifth. Green crossed on an English single, James Young scored on a Ryan Garcia single, and English scored on an Evan Ashley double.
 
The Bucs added one for insurance in the seventh when Young scored again off a Garcia single.
 
Corey Witkowski took the win for Barry, pitching the entire game with 11 strikeouts. He moves to 3-1 on the season. Scott Elitzky took the loss for Lander; he goes to 0-1 for the year.
 
The Bucs return to action next weekend when they host Saint Leo on Friday and Saturday.
