MIAMI, Fla.—The Barry University women’s golf team competed in a dual match against the Northwood University Seahawks on Sunday afternoon.

The Bucs posted solid scores, and used the round as qualifying for their upcoming tournament at the EKU El Diablo on March 11-12.

“The girls did well on a hazard-heavy course they’ve never seen,” head coach Gina Umeck said. “Seventeen of the 18 holes had water.”

Sophie Weilguni led the way for the Bucs with a 75. Isadora Stapff was the next highest finisher with a 79.Taylor Babcock posted an 81. Lizzi Over, Louise Perulf and Anne Fourdraine each finished the loop with an 82, and Lucia Garcia rounded it out with an 86.

“Sophie particularly showed a great amount of poise, Umeck added. “The course in itself was manicured beautifully, as though it were host to a tour event.”
