Rowing Has Another Solid Weekend In Fellsmere

FELLSMERE, Fla.—The Barry University rowing team earned three wins at the DII Duals on Saturday afternoon. The varsity 8 squad downed UCSD and Charleston while the varsity 4 split races, losing to UCSD but beating Charleston.
 
In the varsity 8’s first race against UCSD, the Bucs finished in a time of 7:00.8, 16.7 seconds ahead of the Tritons. In their later race against the Golden Eagles, the Bucs won in a time of 7:13.9. Charleston finished in a time of 8:04.1. The boat was manned by: (cox-Gracie Horwitz, stroke-Kelly Harrison,7-Vanessa Viadero, 6-Jaimee Lampard, 5-Nicole Marek, 4-Helene Pierre, 3-Reneee Forcier, 2-Courtney Greene, bow-Arianna Masley).
 
In the varsity 4 races, the Bucs lost their first race to UCSD. The Bucs finished in a time of 8:20.2 while the Tritons won in a time of 8:12.3. In their second race, the Bucs posted a time of 9:03.2, beating Charleston by 40.9 seconds. Rowing for the varsity 4 was: cox-Savanna Luberto, stroke- Jamie Gordon, 3-Jennifer Feriozzi, 2- Haley Stark, bow-Rebekah Kilroy.
The Bucs return to action next weekend in a dual race against Nova Southeastern
 
Rowing Splits Races On FIrst Day Of DII Duals
 
FELLSMERE, Fla.—The Barry University rowing team began competition at the DII Duals on Friday afternoon. The Buccaneer varsity  8 earned a win while the varsity 4 team lost.
 
The Varsity 8 (cox-Gracie Horwitz, stroke-Kelly Harrison,7-Vanessa Viadero,  6-Jaimee Lampard, 5-Nicole Marek, 4-Helene Pierre, 3-Reneee Forcier, 2-Courtney Greene, bow-Arianna Masley)  boat rowed in the second event of the day, beating Fairfield in a time of 6:57.8. The Bucs beat The Stags by 12.8 seconds.
 
The Varsity 4 boat also faced Fairfield in their event. The Bucs finished second in a time of 8:42.8. Fairfield crossed the line in 8:25.4. The varsity four was manned by: cox-Savanna Luberto, stroke- Jamie Gordon, 3-Jennifer Feriozzi, 2- Haley Stark, bow-Rebekah Kilroy.
 
Barry returns to action tomorrow for the second day of the event. Both the varsity 8 and varsity 4 will row two races.
