MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Four homeruns were not enough for the Barry University baseball team to hold off the Nova Southeastern Sharks on Tuesday evening as the Buccaneers dropped a 13-12 non-conference game to the Sharks at Feinbloom Field.
Both teams struck early and often in the game as they combined for 25 runs, 24 hits and seven homeruns.
The Bucs scored a pair in the first as Drew Dwelly was walked and Dean Green hit a homer to right field. Barry added three more in the James Young reached on a single to shortstop. Manny Pedrozo was walked and Lyndon Coleman grounded out to shortstop, scoring Young. The next hitter, Drew Dwelly, jacked the Bucs’ second homerun to score Pedrozo and give the Bucs a 5-3 lead.
Barry added two more in the fifth when Young singled through the left side and Pedrozo hit a third Buccaneer homer to give the Bucs a7-3 lead.
Nova scored three in the sixth to go down a run at 7-6, but Barry rebounded in the bottom half of the inning scoring two runs off a second Dean Green jack that scored Adrian English. The Bucs went up 9-6. The homer was Green’s 18th on the year.

Barry sent the game into extra innings in the bottom of the ninth off a clutch single from Lyndon Coleman. With two outs, Coleman hit a long single to score Julio Ramos and Harold Holness who were pinch running for Pedrozo and Luis Arrizurieta respectively. With the score tied 11-11, the game went to extra innings.
