LAKELAND, Fla. -- Barry Univesity women's golf team placed sixth at the Lady Moc Golf Classic Tuesday at The Club at Eaglebrooke.

The Buccaneers shot 314 in the final round, finishing at 935 in the three-round event which featured 17 teams.

"It wasn’t what everybody had hoped for," Barry coach Gina Umeck said. "I don’t think anybody is particularly pleased."

Seminole State won the tournament, shooting 913 with a final round 300. Host Florida Southern was second at 915 and Nova Southeastern third at 922.

Elia Folcha Sola of Seminole State won the medalist honor, shooting 74-74-71 -- 219 on the 6,255-yard course. Florida Southern's M.J. Audette shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to finish second, three strokes behind Sola. Nova's Lilliana Camisa was third at 223.

Barry's Taylor tied for 13th after a final round 76 for a 229. Francesca Perini tied for 22nd after shooting 234. Lizzi Over and Daniela Murray each shot 79 Tuesday, finishing tied for 30th and 35th, respectively. Paola Grande shot 241.

Babcock made 35 par putts in the tournament. The Buccaneers birdied 17 holes. Nova and Lynn each had 28 birdies.

"Overall, we put up a good showing," Umeck said. "It’s just different this year. We have more tighter competition. It just makes for a better, quality squad. It was an average performance, but we’re going forward. The contributions are coming from everyone. We’re getting support from the entire team. Everybody’s putting something forward."
