Petsch Chosen to Play in All-Star Game

NEW MARKET, Va. -- Barry University pitcher Tyler Petsch was chosen to play in the Valley Baseball League All-Star Game Sunday. He will suit up for the South All-Stars.

Petsch, who plays for the Covington Jacks, has appeared in eight games this season primarily as a reliever. He's made one start.

A Galloway, N.J., native, Petsch has 20 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings pitched.

The VBL is a 12-team wooden bat league near the Shenandoah Valley, nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains to the east and the Allegheny Mountains to the west. The league operates under NCAA rules, running from early June to late July.
