No. 5 Women's Tennis Tames Tritons

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry women's tennis team swept Eckerd, 9-0, Saturday at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The No. 5 Bucs (5-0, 3-0 Sunshine State Conference) wrap up the weekend with a big match against No. 12 Saint Leo 9 a.m. Sunday.

Emma Onila beat Carson Trapp, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 1 singles. Linda Fristchken beat Gipson Hawn, 6-1, 6-0, at No. 2. Karina Goia swept Manon Ironside, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Kimmy Twelker delivered a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of Taylor Bullock at No. 4.

Akemi Maehama defeated Erika Fridrik, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 5. Isabela Miro returned to the court after taking last weekend off, beating Amanda Teets, 6-1, 6-2, at No. 6.

Barry's No. 1 doubles team of Elisabeth Abanda and Onila rolled to an 8-0 win over Hawn and Fridrik. Twelker and Fritschken defeated Bullock and Teets, 8-1. Miro and Goia recorded an 8-2 victory over Ironside and Trapp at the No. 3 flight.
