Women's Tennis Team Earns All-Academic Honors
Barry University women's tennis team earned ITA Academic Team honors for the 2013 season.

SKILLMAN, N.J.  – Barry University women’s tennis team received Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team honors for the 2012-13 school year.

The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale. All eligible student-athletes whose names appear on the team roster and have competed in one or more varsity matches, figure into the team’s GPA for the academic year.

The Buccaneers had a 3.495 team grade point average this year.

Additionally, junior Akemi Maehama and sophomore Linda Fritschken received Scholar All-American honors.

An ITA Scholar-Athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
