MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—Paxton Sickler scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the second-seeded Rollins Tars over the regular-season champs, Barry Buccaneers, 3-2 on Sunday in the finals of the Sunshine State Conference women’s soccer tournament at Buccaneer Field.

The Bucs (12-4-2) took an early lead in the 24th minute. Laruen Manna broke free on the outside and her shot was saved by Rollins keeper Mary Spring. But it bounced straight to Sara Karna who blasted it home.

The Tars (15-3-0) took the lead early in the second period when Brenna McKee scored twice in space of five minutes.

They held the lead until the 73rd minute. Azure Dorsey fouled Lavinia Nkomo just outside the box and Tamara Vuckovich nailed the ensuing free kick into the upper left corner.

Becca Rogers had a career-high 14 saves for the Bucs, tying the mark of Melissa Toledo against Florida Tech in 2011 for the most in program history since 1986. Spring had five saves for Rollins and Dorsey swept a shot by Amber Smith off the line.

Rogers led four Buccaneers on the All-Tournament team. She was joined by Manna, Vuckovich and Ashley Harlan. McKee earned tournament most outstanding player. She was joined on the team by Emma Bloom, Mora Johnson, Sickler and Dorsey. Aubri Williamson and Julia Kanter from Florida Tech completed the team.

The Tars earn the SSC automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Barry will find out its fate on Monday night at 7:30 pm when the bids are announced on NCAA.com.
