KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Barry University women's basketball team lost to Florida Tech, 74-57, Wednesday in the Sunshine State Conference tournament at Silver Spurs Arena.

Tyler Hardy had 27 points and 13 rebounds in her final game as a Buccaneer, but Barry (16-11) struggled finding offensive production elsewhere in a game it shot 39.8 percent from the field. Florida Tech (17-12) advanced to Friday's quarterfinals to play Saint Leo.

The Bucs trailed 15-0 to start the game, but cut the deficit to six late in the first half before the Panthers built its halftime lead back to 42-27. Barry couldn't recover in the second half, despite a spirited effort from Hardy and some late field goals from Colette Eule, who finished with eight points.

Kaylia Richardson had seven points -- all in the first half.

Tech's Kayk Wilson, the SSC scoring leader, finished with 28 points, and Jasmire Brown had a season-high 14, hitting four first half triples.

The Panthers hit 7 of 10 three-pointers in the first half. Barry struggled from behind the arc, going 3 of 19 from long distance in the game.

The Buccaneers finished the regular season winning five of its last six games, beating Florida Tech on the road Saturday after knocking off No. 14 Rollins at home in overtime.

Barry moved up to No. 7 in this week's NCAA South Region poll. Saint Leo is sixth. Florida Tech is 10th. The top eight teams from each region qualify for the national tournament.
