ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- Barry University women's golf team finished fifth at the Flagler Fall Slam, the final fall tournament of the season for the 10th-ranked Buccaneers.
Barry shot 320-304 -- 624, falling eight strokes behind Armstrong Atlantic. Host Flagler was first after shooting 5-over 293 in the final round to finish at 601. Lynn was second, five strokes behind the Saints. Seminole State (Fla.) was third with a 36-hole total of 614 in the 15-team tournament at Marsh Creek Country Club's par-72, 6,062-yard course.
Bucs senior Francesca Perini tied for third at 3-over in the 81-player field. She shot 4-over in the final round to match Montevallo's Elaine Wood at 147. Lynn's Jessica Bradley shot 1-over 145 to win the tournament by a stroke over Armstrong's Patricia Schmidt.
It was Perini's second top-3 finish in as many attempts in back-to-back weeks. She was the runner-up at last week's Saint Leo Invitational.
Barry's Maria Paola Fiorio tied for fifth at 5-over 149 with Seminole State's Josefine Garton, who shot 1-under in Tuesday's final round.
Barry senior Daniela Murray tied for 29th, shooting 1-over 73 Tuesday to finish in a four-way cluster at 160. Nicky Ferre tied for 51st at 168, following her second round 81. Carolina Heredia was 72nd at 177 after shooting 89.
The Buccaneers are off until February when they return to St. Augustine for the World Golf Invitational, also hosted by Flagler.
